The Hedge Fund Journal staged its inaugural Europe 50 Performance Awards on 21st March 2013 at The Avenue in Mayfair, London.

The backdrop for the awards is The Hedge Fund Journal’s Europe 50 survey, which is now in its 7th Edition. The Europe 50 is a survey of Europe’s largest managers ranked by assets under management. Europe 50 constituent firms between them manage almost 25% of global hedge fund assets.

Fourteen awards were presented to the best performing funds in 2012 managed by these large European managers, across a range of strategies and asset classes.

The awards are judged on a quantitative methodology (Sharpe ratios and returns) to identify the best risk-adjusted performance.
