Every purchaser of shares hopes that the shares’ value will increase as a result of the company’s ability to make and sustain profits. Persons who leverage their shareholding in order to apply pressure to a company’s management to achieve change and also secure financial benefit for the company’s owners, have come to be known as Shareholder Activists.
