Specialist European equity boutique, Argonaut Capital, has hired former captain of Middlesex County Cricket Club Ben Hutton.

Hutton joins as a UK salesperson. He previously spent seven years in an equity sales role at German bank, Berenberg.

Launched in 2005 by founding partners Barry Norris and Oliver Russ, Argonaut has around £1 billion of assets under management across both pooled and segregated funds. Argonaut’s investment process is based upon identifying 'earnings surprise', believing stock prices move on the basis of market expectations of future corporate profits.

Keith Rumbelow, head of sales at Argonaut, comments: “Ben’s arrival further strengthens Argonaut’s sales and distribution capabilities at a time when investor demand for proven active European equity managers continues to increase. Ben’s technical knowledge, strong interpersonal skills and team spirit makes him a perfect fit for our growing team.”

Barry Norris, founder and CIO, adds: “Ben is a proven team player and talented all-rounder, who will be a great asset to the firm.”
